# Introduction

Voyzu is an Open Source, modern web application serving two functions:

* A Financial Ledger
* A modular Rapid Application Development (RAD) Framework

It is this RAD Framework aspect to Voyzu that makes it possible for you to add your own extensions to the product rapidly and safely.
